And Speaking of Great Musicians:  Shreveport Guitar Legend James Burton: Continues to Receive Honors

Legendary Hall of Famer Shreveport’s own James Burton was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in ceremonies in Nashville, Tennessee on March 18th.  Quite an honor for the world-renowned guitarist.  James is ranked #19 in the Rolling Stones List of 100 Greatest Guitarists and #24 in their greatest guitarists of all time.    https://www.graceland.com/elvis-news/posts/james-burton-will-join-the-country-music-hall-of-fame-class-of-2024

Burton is always a humble and kind guy willing to sign autographs, share tales from his time working with some of the greatest entertainers of all times (Elvis Presley and Ricky Nelson just to name two).  His statue alongside his former boss – Elvis Presley – greets visitors to downtown’s historic Municipal Auditorium.  On April 12th, the several block area from Common to Austin Street will be renamed “James Burton Way”.  If you want to visit with the legend himself, join city and other officials at the dedication.  More information to follow.

Mike Wolfe and the American Pickers crew will be filming a show at the James Burton Studio on Elvis Presley Avenue in early April.  Another nod of approval for Shreveport’s celebrated guitarist….James Burton.
