For the month of May, the cities of Shreveport and Bossier City, the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau and the Downtown Development Authority want to encourage you to take in a show, go to the museum, be a tourist in your own home town! We can promise you several things. It will be FUN. We guarantee that you will be amazed at all the cool things there are to do (that you may have lived here all your life and never done). It will make you realize (again?) that we live in a unique place that has a distinctiveness and a sense of community, and there is really something to be said for that.
Start with a Tour!
What’s the first thing you do in another city? You take a bus tour to see great spots! Do the same thing here for just $10 on Saturday, May 13. The Be a Fan Downtown Tour will be led by Chris Jay, public relations/social media manager for the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau. (We can vouch for him. He is fun to hang around with).
The tour will depart the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium parking lot at 1 p.m. See Art the Dalmatian and the Logan Mansion as we cruise by. Tour stops will include the Agora Borealis arts market; the soon-to-open Shreveport Aquarium; and the Southern University Museum of Art. The final stop will be at Cloud 9 Café for a classic root beer float treat.
