Downtown’s fun community gathering space and java house has a lot of news to announce.
They have a new name. Bon Temps Coffee Bar is now known as Bon Temps CoffeeHouse. The new logo should be rolling off the presses in just a matter of days.
They have new owners. Bons was the brainchild and a bucket list goal for Marcus Mitchell, who in addition to being a coffee shop entrepreneur is a Shreveport Police officer. Marcus was finding more and more of his time was needed in the pursuit of crime and rousting of villainy. It just so happened three of his employees who have been pouring their hearts, souls and creativity into the success of Bons were interested in owning the shop and a great hand-over was hatched.
Dezerra Wesley, Shantavious Mitchell, Nakeisha Allen are the super trio who are taking it from here. Welcome, ladies. We love having you (as owners) downtown!
Bons is temporarily out of the food service business, but you can buy their yummy Caked by Britt cake jars to go with your tasty drinks, and they will be having lots of food-related events (Saturday, Oct. 27 they will have a cereal balls event and they will continue doing their ‘Chefs at Bons’ evenings).
Their hours have changed. Bons is now open 7:30 am- 6 pm Monday-Saturday. Once (or twice) a week (this will be posted on their facebook page) they will do a later-night special event, such as adult game night, live music, Chefs at Bons, Art Live events, etc. Be sure to keep up with them to know what is going on.
