Downtown Shreveport Cultural District
In late 2008, the Downtown Development Authority applied to the State of Louisiana for the city’s first-ever Cultural District. In 2009, the Shreveport Downtown Cultural District was approved! For several years, there was a sales tax exemption available for one-of-a-kind art works in Cultural Districts, but that tax was discontinued by the Louisiana Legislature.
