Hosted by The Unanimous Jury Coalition and New Leaders Council – Louisiana
Louisiana is one of two states where just 10 jurors out of 12 can find a defendant guilty and convict that person in a criminal trial. Louisiana also leads the nation per capita in wrongful convictions, 40% of which come from non-unanimous juries. On November 6, for the first time, LA voters will have a chance to amend the LA Constitution and end this discriminatory law.
JOIN US in Shreveport for a night of PIZZA & PHONE BANKING! Phone banking is one of the most critical campaign activities and primary ways to expand the reach of our work. We can make contact with a lot of people in a short amount of time, educate our communities about unanimous juries, and mobilize people to vote!
