The Prince of Sky is searching high and low seeking the person(s) who’s foot fits the glass slippers! On Sunday, September 18 the Kingdom of Sky will be hosting a casting call for Costume Characters and Entertainment for Christmas in the sky 2022.
Potential Costume Characters need audition from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm @ the Central ARTSTATION
Potential Live Entertainers need audition from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm.
Should you be selected to wear a costume and bring a character from, “Kiss a Frog” – our take off on Fairytales — to life for the Guests of Christmas in the Sky, please keep these things in mind:
1. You will need to attend a fitting and at least one dress rehearsal prior to the event! This usually takes place starting the week of Thanksgiving through Christmas in the Sky!
2. You are bringing a character to life, Interacting with the crowd… Not simply modeling a costume!
3. The purpose of the Costume CHARACTERS is to encourage guests to have a good time and bid “SKY HIGH!” on auction items!
4. On the actual day of the event, Saturday, December 10, you will need to arrive for your costume and make up fitting around 3 PM. There are staggered check-in times; and you will be assigned a specific time. You will be “on the floor” ready to receive guests by 6:45 PM and you will work until at least 12 midnight! It is a very long day. After 12 midnight, you are welcome to change into your personal party clothes and enjoy the gala until 3 AM!
5. Importantly, a team of five volunteers are making the costumes and will work for four months to create the perfect costume for you to wear! Therefore, we really expect you to wear it… ALL NIGHT!
6. Unfortunately, you may not bring a date or guest to the party… Tickets are $300 each, and we must account for every guest. Therefore, if there is someone you really want to be with during the evening, we strongly urge you to ask them to join you for the audition, or to purchase a ticket to the gala!
7. You are providing a very important service to the Shreveport Regional Arts Council, and we are extremely grateful to you. In the long run, even though there are lavish sets, delicious buffets, wonderful auction items, and great live entertainment, it is YOU who the guests will remember the most … And talk about for years to come!
Thank you for considering this important opportunity to benefit the ARTS in Northwest Louisiana!
