MM Casting Call for “Confessions”

Open Casting Call for my MFA Thesis short film “Confessions” (Written by Edward E. Givens / Directed by Kristi Woodard)

Role 1: JOHN (male. must be or appear to be late 40s, early 50s)

—- JOHN is a strong and assertive professional man. He is a well-off widower who is a bit on the arrogant and controlling side. He is a successful surgeon who works long hours. His passion for his profession meant his family (wife and child) were often neglected. Now that his wife is gone, he is detached from his daughter, who attends school away from home. Though John has made peace with his wife’s death, a secret surrounding it still hangs over him. Overconfident that it would never be revealed, he’s about to meet his match.

Role 2: TACOMA (female. must be or appear to be 19-21)

—– TACOMA is a beautiful, bold and smart young woman who attends school away from home. With her mom gone, she now has no one to fill the void of her absent father. For the most part, she has always towed the line when it comes to life under parental control, but now that she has nothing to left to lose, her rebellious streak is showing. Unable to get over the unexpected and suspicious death of her mother, she decides to make a daring move to get answers and seek closure.
