The March Artwalk welcomes spring with a little of everything! Here’s what you’ll be missing if you don’t attend:
Meet 2014 Criticall Mass Winner Taffie Cragon Garsee at iArchitecture, 417 Lake Street. Taffie’s fine painting has received national attention.
The Agora Borealis, 421 Lake Street, will feature the opening reception for painter Jaqueline Ruiz.
The Short Line Food Court at the corner of Fairfield Ave. and Marshall St. will be open for business during Artwalk. Pop by for dinner or a beverage.
719 Marshall St. is still an active construction zone, but you’re invited to take a tour! Walk through the historic buildings with the new owner, who’ll talk to you about the layout and amenities of the planned new condos there.
The DDA building, 416 Cotton St., will feature the upcycled and repurposed works of Rusty Clark, and photographer Brittany Strickland. Ben Moss will be painting a creation from scratch and the Bossier Arts Council will be serving faux martinis, selling Artini tickets and t-shirts.
716 Edwards, one of the new Solomon Apartments, will be open for view and will feature the work of photographer/ digital artist Joshua Brittian.
Lee Hardware Gallery, 719 Edwards, will feature body jewelry by Katie Livingston, photography by Anna Lindy and works by Jon Clanton. Jon will be in the new ‘artist’s alley’ with his 21-and-older-only collection. Tours of an apartment at the 100-year-old United Jewelers will be at 5:30, 6, 6:30, 7:00 and 7:30. Desserts by Hello, Sweetie will be for sale, and there will be tables along the sidewalk to stop and nosh.
Noble Savage, 417 Texas Street, is the place for the paintings of Jen Driskill and MC Rollo’s photography! Groove to Joe Nadeau’s Blues Jam inside the ‘Savage!
Maps will be provided at each location. All on-street parking is free after 5 pm, and several parking lots are open to artwalkers.
