The Main Branch of the Shreve Memorial Library, closed for most of the year, is reopening Monday, Nov. 9 at 9 am but with limited services. For a time, library services will be offered in the Eaves Room right off the front foyer at 424 Texas St.

“We are excited to reopen the branch, although with limited space and services,” stated John Tuggle, Executive Director of Shreve Memorial Library. “While most of the library continues its renovations, we are happy to welcome patrons back to the Eaves Room as a temporary location for library services. We hope that our patrons will take advantage of this temporary location for all of their library needs.” During the renovations, library hours will be 9 am- 6 pm Monday-Friday with a  Seniors’ Hour on Monday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

The Eaves Room cannot provide all the services of the three-story building but will be open for quick browsing and checkouts, computer access, reference and Readers’ Advisory, and printing and faxing services. Browsing and computer use will be limited to one hour sessions. All visitors to the library over the age of two must wear a face mask to enter the library, and face masks are required at all times while in the branch. No eating or drinking will be allowed, and the amount of people allowed in the branch will depend on occupancy limits and social distancing guidelines. Patrons under the age of 10 will not be permitted without a responsible person.
