Fairmont Apartments Reopens After $21M Restoration

Downtown living is getting a new lease on life. The historic Fairmont Apartments, originally built in 1952, has just had a transformative $21 million renovation that blends thoughtful preservation with modern innovation.

This extensive revitalization not only restores the building’s mid-century charm, but also brings essential upgrades to infrastructure, interiors, and shared amenities. Residents will now enjoy a fitness center, community room, computer learning center, and more. All was designed to enhance comfort, connectivity, and quality of life.

Perhaps most importantly, the project preserves 254 units of affordable housing for low and moderate income households, ensuring that this iconic property continues to serve the people of Shreveport for decades to come.

This week, the Fairmont celebrated the transformation with the unveiling of its newly modernized apartments. The restoration honors the building’s historic legacy while reaffirming its role as a vital community asset for Shreveport’s downtown.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Fairmont team and its partners for their vision, dedication, and investment in downtown Shreveport. Their efforts ensure that the Fairmont continues to serve both its residents and the broader community for generations to come.
