You are invited to a very special event on Sunday, March 3, 2024, 3:30 pm, Riverview Theatre, as the Wideman International Piano Competition in collaboration with the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra presents Parker Van Ostrand, 2022 Wideman Piano Competition Gold Medalist.  Van Ostrand is “presently studying at the San Francisco Conservatory where he collaborated with Yuja Want on a special program in 2022.”  The incredibly talented pianist is only 20 years old and is quickly becoming  “recognized as a serious concert artist.”  He received a medal in the National Chopin Piano Competition, is a U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts, and has performed with seven orchestras including a recent performance at the Fort Worth Symphony during the Piano Texas International Festival and Academy in 2023.  Funding for the event is being provided by LSUS – The Ruth Herring Noel Endowed Chair, The Alta and John Franks Foundation, Martin Family Private Holdings LLC, Grace Bareikis, Janie Richardson, Shreveport Symphony Guild, and Wideman International Piano Competition.  Sunday, March 3, 2023, 3:30 pm, Riverview Theatre on the Shreveport riverfront!  An incredible opportunity…..don’t miss it!
