[SHREVEPORT, LA, June 11, 2025] — George “Trey” Fauber, III and the Board of Directors of Providence House unanimously selected Sharpel Welch to serve as the new Executive Director eGective June 16,
2025. Welch is no stranger to the Shreveport-Bossier community. She has served in several leadership capacities and has been honored by local and professional organizations for her many professional
accomplishments. Equipped with an MBA and BS from Colorado Technical University Online – Colorado Springs, CO, Welch will also have an earned Doctorate in Education (Organizational Leadership) from Grand Canyon University shortly after her arrival to Providence House.
An accomplished educator, trainer, and organizational leader, she has spent the last fifteen years in leadership at Community Renewal. A combat veteran of the United States Army, Sharpel Welch joins Providence House with extensive corporate experience as well. She worked as a Human Resources Professional Development Trainer at Lone Star College System in Houston, Texas, and is a certified Achieve Global Trainer, DiSC Trainer, and B.E.S.T. (Basic English Skills Test) Examiner.
