Amazon, move over. Grocery store, you’re yesterday’s news. Downtown’s Cotton St Farms offers fresh-from-the- local- farm goodness, delivered to your doorstep. Since June 8, shoppers have been able to go online and purchase sweet corn, yellow and red watermelon, peaches, cucumbers, eggplants, and cantaloupe, purple hull and crowder peas and other garden delights. In addition to the fresh fruit and veggies, you can order a variety of local farm-raised meats.

This is the alley entrance to 406 Cotton. Please do NOT block the alley when visiting Cotton St Farms.

Here’s how it works. Go on their website and order what is fresh and in season. If you work downtown, they will deliver it FREE to your office within 24 hours. If you live elsewhere, you will see your options in the ‘checkout’ section of the website. You can also order online and come to 406 Cotton Street and pick up yourself, or walk in and see what’s available. As a general rule, 406 Cotton will be open from ‘noon-ish to six-ish’ Monday-Friday’ so you might want to call before you come by.

NOTE: The entrance to Cotton St. Farms is through the alley across from the Lee Hardware Apartments. PLEASE DO NOT BLOCK THE ALLEY- this is a very busy alley and cars could be ticketed. There are plenty of spaces along the street and in the surface lot just across from 406 Cotton to park. Just like at the Farmers’ Market, the vegetable/fruit options will change depending on the growing season. Once the hydroponic portion of the farm is up and running, there will be several vegetables and herbs that will be available year-round, so stay tuned for that.
