The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is pleased to announce the unanimous decision to appoint former Shreveport Mayor and State Representative, Cedric Glover, as the new Executive Director. After an extensive 9-month search process to find the ideal successor to our previous leadership, we are excited to welcome Mr. Glover into this pivotal role.
Our initial search garnered 14 applicants, primarily from the region. However, in our commitment to finding the best candidate, we engaged a national search firm, resulting in an expanded pool of 20 highly qualified applicants. Following comprehensive interviews, rigorous evaluations, and consultations with stakeholders, Cedric Glover emerged as the leading choice. His submission packet, letters of recommendation, and engaging video and in-person interviews left a lasting impression.
Cedric Glover’s substantial experience in development, governmental affairs, real estate, public relations, and executive management, combined with his advocacy for both small businesses and major industries, will be invaluable as we look to elevate the Downtown Development District. His leadership comes at a critical time for Shreveport, especially as we experience exciting growth in the Film & Television industry and entertainment sectors.
The DDA recognizes that downtown Shreveport’s vibrancy is essential to the city’s overall success. We are confident that, with Cedric’s leadership and the support of the community, downtown will continue to thrive and grow. Together, we aim to ensure that Shreveport is nationally and internationally recognized as a city where people can live, work, and play, all while experiencing the rich culture that defines the South.
