Former educator Robert Trudeau is putting his teaching hat on again to offer Downtown Walking Tours focusing on interesting historical bits…from civil rights to the Louisiana Hayride and musical heritage. His Walking Tour for all ages and interests starts at Rhino Coffee at 624 Texas Street, but it’s always best to check before you go AND to make sure that enough people have signed up for the tour. Four are required, but more are always preferred. This particular tour goes for a couple of hours and includes exteriors of the Caddo Courthouse and Confederate Memorial, Oakland Cemetery, Municipal Auditorium, Austin Place mansions, Calanthean Temple, Antioch Baptist Church, Scottish Rite Temple and Strand Theater. It includes recorded music such as “Goodnight, Irene,” “Suzie Q” and more.

His History Tour runs two hours, 8 am- 10 am, on Fri, Sat or Sun. Again, there is a minimum of four persons. Tours are $10 per adult; $5 for ages 10 to 16. Contact Robert via his Facebook page or by phone, at 318-272-6045.
