Downtown venues are going to be bursting with all sorts of holiday cheer and there are three in particular that you will want to know about. For the first time in their history, Robinson Film Center/Abby Singer’s Bistro at 617 Texas Street has combined decor, food, and art in a holiday happening.
Holi-dazed is a literal transformation of the restaurant space, a creation of the North Pole/Santa’s Workshop in a fun, festive, colorful and over-the-top look that makes everyone who sees it, happy.
Holi-Dazed will feature special meals and beverages by Abby Singer’s award-winning chef Tootie Morrison, such as the Christmas Wreath with Deep Eddy’s Ruby Red grapefruit vodka, rosemary simple syrup and triple sec garnished with a grapefruit slice and fresh rosemary or Filet Focaccia, grilled filet with horseradish cream sauce over fresh baked rosemary focaccia garnished with roasted cherry tomatoes and a rosemary sprig. In addition to the food will be showings of holiday movie favorites! Holi-Dazed will be up until Jan. 8. Reservations are recommended.
The Shreveport Aquarium brings back Believe: Magic of Christmas, a holiday event that features lights, costumed characters, breakfasts with Santa, magic-motion activated wands and more. Children love interacting with the Ice Princess, elves and Mrs. Claus and Santa is always close at hand, too!
Believe runs through December 23. Reservations are recommended for the Breakfasts with Santa, Dec. 11 & 18.
Sci-Port’s SnoPort: The Snow Factory has returned with some additional hands-on holiday fun including The Icicle Forest, Snow Cave, Ice Fishing , Snow Shovel Snowball Toss, Ride-to- the-Top Clock Tower, Giant Snow Globe, The Snow Factory, Nanite Gnome Snow Adventure, The Xylophone Tree, LEGO Gnome Homes, Mini Bobsled Roller Coaster, and the Make It Glow Tree of Snow.
Snoport will run through Feb. 27 and is a separate admission from Sci-Port general admission.
