15th Annual Yazzy Youth Celebrating Jazz Concert
Join the students and faculty of the Theatre of the Performing Arts of Shreveport’s Yazzy Youth Celebrating Jazz program as we celebrate the month of April as Jazz Appreciation Month. This performance will feature guest artist Donald Harrison, jazz saxophonist from New Orleans, La., and a special performance from Shreveport native and former Yazzy participant Willie Jones. This concert is designed to highlight local talented youth in collaboration with national renowned professional artists. This year’s theme, “Boogie Down in Da’ Boot,” will be centered around Louisiana artists, music of all genres, and culture featuring well known selections from Aaron Neville, Percy Sledge, Hank Williams, Percy Mayfield, Louis Armstrong, Irma Thomas, and T.K. Soul, and Cupid.
