- To briefly describe the project…Artists Lisandra T Di Liberto Brown, Eric Francis and Will Brown have chosen to take on the walls of artspace in an exhibition titled On The Wall. This is the first exhibition where artists are painting large-scale artworks directly on the wall of the mainspace floor of artspace at 801 Texas St. in downtown Shreveport.
- The exhibition promises to be a fusion of the very different styles of these three artists and in particular of Di Liberto Brown’s and Francis’ work.
- Lisandra’s art is a mixture of reality and fantasy. She is best known for the red cow she paints with wings. Louisiana Life Magazine named her one of eight Louisianians of The Year as someone who has had great success in her own world in 2014. Brown was also recently chosen one of 13 regional artists whose work was exhibited as a part of The Latino Art Project in Little Rock, Arkansas to celebrated Latino culture.
- Francis’ art is primarily portraiture. He was one of 7 Northwest LA artists to have his own studio space in artspace in 2017. He is also a teacher and has recorded more than 50 tutorial videos on art that can be found online.
Beginning Thursday, January 11, the public is invited to watch the artists’ work in progress from the windows at Parish Taceaux. They will be painting continually from January 11 until the opening of their exhibition on January 20. “On the Wall” at artspace will open to the public Saturday January 20.
