The area’s newest source for news- the Shreveport Bossier City Advocate– was officially welcomed to Downtown Shreveport Tuesday with a snip of the ceremonial ribbon. The staff of the digital news source calls Suite 100 at Louisiana Tower (401 Edwards Street) their local office and newsroom.

The Advocate, which also owns newspapers and/or digital sites in New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Acadiana, officially moved into the market in July and started covering news.
Advocate Owner and Chief Executive Officer John Georges told those gathered at the opening that his papers cover the events of the state with 400+ employees statewide and a full-time Washington bureau. “The world deserves to know about Shreveport,” Georges told the Tuesday crowd, “and Shreveport Bossier deserves to know about itself.” “This paper belongs to this community.”
The SB Advocate is still looking for employees. There are currently local openings for two reporters and two salespeople.
