UPDATE: Robinson Film Center will be hosting a showing of the movie The Secret Garden on Thursday, March 23 at 1:30. Tickets are $6.50 to $8.50.
Here’s the ‘buzz’-
Artspace, 708 Texas Street, is normally the place for visual and performance art exhibits- the more traditional paintings, sculptures and poetry. Not so on March 22 and 23. Artspace will be hosting the art of flowers, pollinators and amazing arrangements.
Celebrate & Pollinate is being hosted by the Shreveport Garden Study Club, but it is a nationally recognized event, drawing flower ‘sculptors’ and ‘artists’ from around the country.
It will be free to attend, but is only two days because after them, the flowers begin to lose their beauty and luster and this show is all about those things. Hours are Wednesday, March 22 from noon until 5 pm and Thursday, March 23 from 10 am until 7:30 pm. There will be a pollinator market, Pepito XO restaurant next door will be Celebrate and Pollinate specials, the sidewalk cafe will be a-buzz. Mark your calendar for this amazing event.
Until 5 pm, remember that all on-street parking is pay, either with quarters for the meters or through our Parkmobile app. Surface lots are also pay lots, but we have worked with our downtown partners to provide you some FREE parking. Lots 3, 4, 6 and the parking in the small lot in front of the Asian Gardens are FREE for the general public. Lot 2 is for credentialed judges ONLY. Lot 5 is really most sincerely off limits before 5 pm – it is reserved for downtown employees until 5 pm. After 5 pm, it is available and free. Lot 1 is open to the public, but it is a PAY lot, please bring $3 in exact change if you would like to park there. Meter spaces are $0.25 per half hour with a 2-hour limit. Please bring quarters. Paying by app gives you a 3-hour limit in an on-street space. All street parking is free after 5 pm.
