September 26-29, SB Magazine is hosting Shreveport/Bossier’s first-ever Fashion Week and three of their most fabulous fashion-forward events are being held downtown.

If you love clothes and the latest trends, are interested in seeing how local designers have been able to channel the biannual Christmas in the Sky event to  create ten amazing looks,  want to revel in all that is Anna Wintour in The September Issue, a movie about Vogue magazine’s amazing fall fashion issue, or simply enjoy pulling up to a beauty bar and shopping until you drop, this event is for you!

There are three separate events that we encourage you to reserve tickets for now because we believe they will be a sell-out.

  1. Project Broadway and the Beauty Bar, Thursday, Sept. 27, 7-9 pm at artspace, 708 Texas Street. Tickets- $25

Step into artspace into a sea of fashion and beauty professionals, all there to give  information toward a more beautiful you. Talk to them about hair, skin, makeup and watch as they show you quick tips for looking fresh and flirty.

You’ll also have the chance to shop the jewelry and accessories marketplace as you chat with friends while drinking your complimentary beverage. At 7 pm, Project Broadway begins. Much like Project Runway, SB’s ten designers were given directions, a little time and told to create. You’ll be seeing their Broadway-inspired works for the first time and you’ll also be able to vote for your favorite! Official judges will determine an overall designer winner who will be announced that night. Designers include:

  • Ann Chandler
  • Michael Davis
  • Cookie DuBois
  • Leah Golden
  • Kathy Green
  • Brittani Shabazz
  • Kathryn Usher
  • Whitney Warren
  • Ryan Williams
  • Sherri Winseman

2. The September Issue Documentary and Prizes, Friday, September 28 @ 7:30 pm, Robinson Film Center, 617 Texas St. Tickets- $9.50/10.50

As SB Fashion Week takes over Shreveport, get an insider’s glimpse into one of fashion’s most important annual events — preparing for Vogue’s epic fall fashion issue with editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and her team. Documentary, 2009, 90 min., PG-13. Prior to the movie, there will be a fun contest and TWO winners will receive tickets to the huge SB Fashion Week finale MAIN EVENT on Saturday night at 601 Spring. These tickets are provided courtesy of the Downtown Development Authority.

3. SB Fashion Week MAIN EVENT, Saturday, Sept. 29 @ 7 p.m., 601 Spring Street. Free Marketplace opens at 4 p.m. Tickets- $35.
