Northern Louisiana Comfort Food & Catering wants you to know that their big plates filled with smothered pork chops, baked chicken and dressing and crispy fried catfish aren’t just for Monday-Friday anymore!
The space at 830 Louisiana Ave, former home of the historic KCS Cafe, is open on SUNDAYS, 11 am- 4 pm. Northern’s Quinton Pipkins says this will give Sunday morning late-risers and church-goers alike the opportunity to check the restaurant out.

This is the place! The easiest way to get here is via Common Street to Fairfield to Louisiana Ave.

The menu reads exactly like a menu from a Southern Soul comfort food restaurant would- heavy on flavor and goodness! Monday-Friday there will be a daily special, and you can order a veggie plate, too. The veggies- candied yams, purple hull peas, mixed turnip & mustard greens- are delish, and you can sop up anything left with the big piece of cornbread you’ll get, too!

Northern’s menu. The Veggie Plate isn’t here, but one is also offered.

When I asked the owner, Beverly Bernard, what gets the most comments- she was quick to tell me about her desserts- ESPECIALLY BB’s melt in your mouth Sweet Potato Pie!

I love a good cobbler, but BB’s Sweet Potato Pie comes straight from Heaven.

Miss Beverly making some kitchen magic!

Give them at call at 318-779-1972, or, just show up Monday-Friday from 11 am- 2 pm or Sunday 11 am- 4 pm to see what specials are cooking. You’ll be glad you did!  Be sure to ask them about catering your party and events that can be held at the restaurant!
