Dozens of pizza, smoothie and small business supporters were on hand this morning to ‘officially’ welcome two of downtown’s newest businesses.

The African-American Chamber of Commerce held a joint ribbon cutting for Pop N’ Pizza, 500 Texas Street- and Cookie B’s Smoothies and More, 431 Texas Street. The chamber had a strategic reason to wait to welcome the two locations- both are owned and promoted by women- Brittani Shabazz at Pop N’ Pizza and Kira McKnight and Sierra Baker at Cookie B’s- and March is Women’s History Month, a perfect connection to both businesses.
