Legendary Hall of Famer Shreveport’s own James Burton was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in ceremonies in Nashville, Tennessee on March 18th. Quite an honor for the world-renowned guitarist. Burton is always a humble and kind guy willing to sign autographs, share tales from his time working with some of the greatest entertainers of all times (Elvis Presley and Ricky Nelson just to name two). His statue alongside his former boss – Elvis Presley – greets visitors to downtown’s historic Municipal Auditorium. On April 12th, the several block area from Common to Austin Street will be renamed “James Burton Way”. If you want to visit with the legend himself, join city and other officials at the dedication.
