It’s been called the most important meal of the day, and downtown is ramping up its breakfast options with a new entry into the early morning dining: Parish Taceaux.

Downtown’s trendy little dining spot at 708 Texas Street next to artspace is offering breakfast from 7 am- 10 am Monday-Friday. You’ll be able to enjoy packed breakfast ‘burriteauxs’ filled with chorizo, queso blanco, poblano peppers and eggs. If you are more in the mood for a sweet treat, order the crunchy cinnamon and sugar coated churros to dunk in your hot chocolate coffee!

Parish Taceaux isn’t the only downtown breakfast hotspot, though. Just across Louisiana Street is Rhino Coffee Downtown, open at 7 am Monday- Sat., and 8:30 am Sundays. Rhino is a great spot for a variety of coffees, baked good and breakfast foods, including bagels and salmon and giant BLT sandwiches.

At 420 Marshall Street, Retro Down Town Cafe has a wide variety of breakfast options including chicken and waffles, omelets, delicious breakfast sandwiches and fresh baked goods. They open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at 8 am, Tuesday, Friday and Saturdays at 9 am.

Bon Asian Cafe serves breakfast at the Beck Building, 400 Travis St. (Bon Asian’s door is on Edwards St.) The small cafe is open 9 am Monday-Friday and 11 am on Saturday and serves up a few egg dishes.

Bistro to Go in the Regions Tower, 333 Texas, is available for breakfast offerings starting at 7:30 am Monday-Friday, and

Sugar Lou’s on the mezzanine at Louisiana Tower offers grits, pancakes, omelets, breakfast sandwiches and more each weekday at 8:30 am.

There’s no reason anymore to skip a great breakfast downtown!
