Help Robinson Film Center become debt-free by December 31

For seven years, Robinson Film Center has strengthened our community by offering world-class, community-driven programming. We hope our mission has enriched you, your friends and our region’s quality of life.

What started as a dream – let’s build an art house, education center and entertainment destination in downtown Shreveport – has turned into a signature destination. RFC serves 60,000 people per year, and the number is growing. Isn’t that remarkable?

As exciting as this progress sounds, it has been earned through a daily struggle to keep the doors open. Our nonprofit is burdened by a $415,000 debt load that has lightened too slowly since its $560,000 max in 2010. We also operate on little to no cash reserve.

We have formed a committee of ambassadors, or longtime advocates for RFC, to aggressively attack debt and cash flow problems once and for all.

“The debt has crippled our capacity to create a stable and sustainable source of revenue,” says Tina Kendrick, chair of the ambassadors group and past board president. “Debt-free, RFC has the opportunity to grow and expand on the mission to educate, enrich and entertain through the power of film.”

We firmly believe that RFC deserves a vibrant place in our city’s future, but we have to act now. Our nonprofit can only survive if we pull together to strike a $5,900 monthly debt obligation for good. That money can be saved steadily to make RFC stronger.
