Lisandra Brown Color de Piel” Exhibit

No matter the color of our skin, we are all human.”

Join us for an Artist Reception honoring artist, Lisandra Brown and her solo exhibition on the gallery wall, “Color de Piel”.

Lisandra Brown wants to create a story through her paintings that is positive and exuberant. Her eye is automatically drawn to red, bright blue and orange of her home town Hatillo. She enjoys using these colors to create her Red Cows With Wings, symbolic of her love for Hatillo and Louisiana, her newly adopted home. Brown creates surrealistic paintings that carry a message with which people can identify.

In Puerto Rico, Lisandra studied painting and sculpture at the School of Fine Arts in Santana. Recently, she has been digging deeper into her authentic roots, taking inspiration from her Peruvian father and other family, all of Italian decent who also painted and sculpted. Lisandra is inspired by authentic ancients such Pablo Picasso, Vincent Van Gogh and Salvador Dali.

Lisandra wants her art to contribute to creating an environment that makes the viewer feel comfortable with his or her surroundings. Beyond that She wants for her paintings to help viewers to take greater joy in the everyday world.
