On Thursday, February 2, 2023, the 25th Annual Wayne Curtis Memorial Art and Objets D’Art Benefit will be held at the newly renovated Riverview Hall.  In 1996, Wayne Curtis developed the event as a fundraiser for the Red River Revel Arts Festival, in past years it helps to raise right at $10,000.  The party begins at 6 p.m. when you will peruse and preview the incredible art consisting of donations from 2021 and 2022 Revel artists and other Revel-related items. Heavy hors d’oeuvres by Cajun Asian and a cash bar from Thrifty Liquor are a part of this incredible evening too.

Each $100 ticket admits two people and provides at least one chance to select from the myriad of “Objets D’Art!”  At 7:00 we will draw the first ticket from the fishbowl. The lucky winner selects their item of choice.  Every ticketholder pulled after the first one will select a piece from the remaining art until all tickets are drawn. If there is art leftover, tickets are returned the bowl and drawn until the art is depleted.  This event was designed so that every ticket holder leaves with a piece of art – everyone is a winner!

New is 2023! Introducing a new item to the fundraiser this year: The Steal. Only two of these opportunities will be available throughout the evening, and once they are used they are gone. If a piece of art get selected that you really had your eyes on, any ticketholder who has yet to be drawn may shout “STEAL” and get to take the piece/package for a $200 fee. You must shout your intention to Steal before the round ends, pay at the event, and will lose your future drawing unless all ticketholders have selected and slips returned to the fishbowl for additional selections. The ticketholder who is stolen from immediately gets to select another item. Once an item is stolen once it cannot be stolen again. This dynamic could create some excitement especially in the early rounds!
