Downtown Braces for History on Tap II: A Night of Beer & Buildings Returns!

In 2014, Downtown Shreveport hosted a first-of-its-kind event; a night that paired free beer and historic buildings. ‘Holy Moly!’ you may be saying to yourself. ‘Is there is no end to the incredible creativity of this DDA crew?’  No. There IS no end. Amazingly, we have upped the ante for attendees this year.

On Thursday, March 26 from 5-9 pm, History on Tap returns with MORE beers, MORE locations, and MORE amazing history of Downtown Shreveport. And they said it couldn’t be done.

Here’s how it works. The first 500 people over the age of 21 with legal ID to show up at artspace beginning at 5 pm will get a passport and wristband and commemorative Lofts @ 624 sample glass that will be theirs to keep.

Partner Glazer’s is making this all possible, so a round of serious applause for them.

From 5-9 pm, our location partners: Robinson Film Center (617 Texas), the Lofts@624 (616 Texas), artspace (710 Texas) and Central ARTSTATION (801 Crockett) will be open for beer sampling and history- learning. Each location will have eight beers to sample for a total of 32 and each beer will be paired with information about cool buildings and interesting historic events in downtown’s history. Read that information and take our HOT Quiz and you may win some cool Glazer’s stuff!

Don’t drink beer? Most of the locations will also have other beverages for sale.
Hungry? Food will be available at three of the four locations.
Need live music? Live music courtesy of Tipitina’s starts in the basement at artspace at 7 pm-10 pm.
Interesting in brewing? The brewmeisters at Red River Brewing Co. and Flying Heart Brewing will be giving talks at 8 and 8:30 at 616 Texas.

More information about the night is available at our website,

This event is RAIN OR SHINE, so grab your umbrella and galoshes and get ready for some fun!
