Grab your gardening gloves and tools and dress in your ‘no-need-to-impress’ duds and meet us at 8 am (ish) Saturday, April 22 at 416 Cotton Street for the Downtown Edition of the Love the Boot Cleanup.

Parking is available at the lots on Marshall between Crockett and Cotton Streets.

We are partnering with volunteers from the Shreveport Aquarium and some young people from the Word of God Ministries and whomever else would like to participate!

Please bring:

  1. Gardening gloves if you have them, and gardening tools like snippers, loppers, shears, and other items (if you have them). Please be sure to mark your tools so they don’t get mixed up with someone else’s.
  2. Something reusable for your water.

We will provide:

  1. Water to fill up your reusable container, soft drinks, a T-shirt and lots of thanks and ‘attaboys and girls’.
  2. A hamburger meal at noon and maybe some prizes, too.
  3. A bathroom!

We will be working with Shreveport Aquarium horticulturist Tim Hoover to take down a bunch of plant/weed growth in an entrance corner of downtown, we will be trimming back ugly plants, picking up litter and other debris and in general, looking for ways to make a positive impact- and we could certainly use your help.

If you would like to come, please do. If you will alert me here, I will be able to get a count for the hamburgers.

Love downtown? Help us give it a spring cleaning on Saturday, April 22, 8 am- noon. Show up at 416 Cotton Street and we’ll put you to work. Afterwards, we’ll gather for chat and burgers!
