365 days, more than 1100 events! Think there’s nothing to do? You won’t after looking through the new Culture Calendar 365, put together by the Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC) and Forum News. The calendar lists art and cultural events from fall 2018 until summer 2019 in SRAC’s 10-parish region, but many of the events happen downtown. Did you know about the Cirque du Lake Street Festival on September 21 or the National Folk Art Month Exhibit at the Southern University Museum of Art-Shreveport in October? They’re listed, along with many more.
The unveiling of the Culture Calendar 365 at the September artwalk was so overwhelming that ALL of the calendars on hand were given out, but 7,000 more will be here the week of Sept. 10-14 and one will be inserted in the next edition of the Forum to hit the stands.
The calendar was made possible by the Forum, SRAC, Surgical Specialists, the National Endowment for the Arts and the City of Shreveport. Get your calendar and make plans- you have 365 days of events ahead of you!
