For 46 years, the Red River Revel has been a mainstay in Shreveport. In the days before Festival Plaza, it spilled onto the Clyde Fant Parkway and Milam Street, and when Festival Plaza was constructed, moved to a location of permanent utilities, running water, pavilions and bathrooms! It has been a wonderful partnership over the years between the City of Shreveport and the Junior League of Shreveport, and later, the Red River Revel leadership itself. We love the Revel.

But the Revel, like other large (and small) festivals that fill the calendar at Festival Plaza, has been contained in one small part of downtown…until now.

RevelPlus announcement at Refine Design, 616 Texas St., one of the businesses taking part.

Earlier this week, Revel Executive Director Logan Lewis and Downtown Development Authority Executive Director Liz Swaine announced the creation of Revel+, a way to extend the excitement of the arts festival in the greater downtown.

“As a non-profit doing business in Downtown Shreveport, our aim is to amplify the options people have for entertainment and hospitality while also supporting local business. Revel Plus allows the festival to expand its reach beyond Festival Plaza. And our friends in downtown have the opportunity to capitalize on the traffic the Red River Revel brings to the table. Our goals for increased traffic are aligned and now our programming is too. This is the first step in creating a win-win culture for downtown business and entertainment” said Logan Lewis, Executive Director of the Red River Revel.

“We love our festivals but have never truly had them integrate into downtown until now,'” said the DDA’s Swaine. “Revel Plus is going to encourage the thousands of Revel visitors to really explore what downtown has to offer, but with benefits! We’ll be unveiling all sorts of downtown Revel week specials that will be unlocked with your Revel digital wristband. Been wanting to try one of downtown’s restaurants, need to get a jump on holiday shopping, looking for late-night entertainment? We have it all with Revel+, and on sale!”

The keys to the deal are the new-this-year Revel digital wristband (that you will use instead of the paper coupons for buying food and beverage at the festival) and the Revel+ QR Code.

This QR code takes you to Revel+ deals.

This digital wristband is key to Revel+ deals.

Scanning the QR Code (Apple phones do this automagically, Google phones need the Google Lens app) or using our URL will take you to the downtown page of Revel+ specials that include deals and fun events at 23 downtown specialty stores, amusement and entertainment venues, restaurants and bars.

It is a win for everyone! It will encourage the thousands of visitors to the Revel to explore more of what downtown has to offer and get deals while they’re doing it, and it will show off the variety of businesses that have opened downtown. We guarantee that you will be surprised at the fact that you can buy children’s clothes downtown, get embroidery services, pick up gifts for your dog, fill your home decor needs, and much more. Revel+ deals run Oct. 1-9, unless otherwise specified.

Make your Revel experience a true PLUS this year!
