The Downtown Development Authority has asked two local artists, Charmel Lester and James Marks, to create art that will be hanging in unexpected downtown places.
Charmel’s whimsical crochet pieces, and James’ ‘wire people’ will pop up when and where you least expect. The art will be directed at pedestrians, so while walking, be on watch for wire people looking back at you, and for words of encouragement in yarn.
On Saturday, May 20 from 10 am- 2 pm, we want you to join us on a quest to find these pieces of art. Make it a fun team event for family and friends- see who can find the most art piece!
As a part of the event, Dripp Donuts will be creating a special ART DONUT available for this one day only, but it will NOT BE FOR SALE. It will only be available to those who take the art quest. If you find five pieces of art, you will be treated to a special ART donut.
In addition, meet the artists, enjoy a lunch of a delicious Dripp Hot Chicken sandwich, listen to live music, eat donuts, drink coffee drinks, shop at artist pop-ups and enjoy a beautiful day downtown.
