Strings and Things: Art With a Different Kind of Instrument will be held at Southern University Museum of Art at Shreveport (SUMAS) on Thursday, October 6 at 5:30 p.m. Admission is free, and VIP tickets are $35.

Karen T. La Beau (visual artist) and Christena De’Angielo (jewelry designer) team up to bring you a unique art experience. This event is general seating and free to the public. An Eventbrite free ticket is required for entry. There will be limited VIP tickets with front-row seating available for a fee.

Karen is continuing her storytelling painted violin series. She will present the unveiling in a unique manner. Christena will present her new series of jewelry. These original, specialty items will be presented in an unforgettable execution. These two artists will also have a collaboration piece that may be acquired through an auction. All other works will be for sale.

Wild Jay Brown will serenade the crowd with his electric violin performance. The incomparable Brenda Wimberly is sure to have your jaw drop when she serenades you. Chef Mel will be on tap to delight your taste buds. Light hors d’oeuvres will be served from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The program starts at 6:00 pm. A plated dinner will be served upon entry for VIP guests. Chase the Bartender will pour up the libations.
