We’re one day into 2020 and already looking ahead to some big happenings this year. Work continues on the old Arlington Hotel which is coming back to life this year as the eagerly-awaited Every Man A King Distillery. The distillery will feature a French restaurant- The Revinir- a musical venue called The Cotton Club, event rental space, a gift shop and more. Read our story on the history of the Arlington Hotel & the latest on the distillery here.

The former Andress Ford Motor Co. is transforming into the Andress Artists and Entreprenuers Center. On the ground floor will be a gallery and artist work spaces; the second floor will house trendy office spaces. Physical work on the building should start in the first quarter of 2020. On Milam Street, the building we all know as Uneeda Biscuit is under construction as an apartment rehab.  There will be 32 units, 16 market-rate and 16 for artists and creatives. Read Uneeda Lofts move forward.

One of downtown’s few remaining mansions – the Logan Mansion– was sold in 2019. Since then, the new owner has been making improvements and adding events, like the Halloween Monster’s Ball and Victorian Christmas tours. The space is now doing booming business as an airbnb. The mansion is also available for gatherings from weddings and receptions to corporate parties.
